Services Deployed by Pilots for Pilots

Worldwide Accident/Incident Hotline

ALPA protects your reputation, your job, and your career while simultaneously improving your workplace by addressing the root causes of the accident in the overall aviation system. No other pilot union in the world offers this service, which acts as additional insurance for you in the event of an accident or incident.

ALPA Orange CardThe ALPA Hotline
Thousands of ALPA pilots have received timely and accurate support, both during and after an aircraft accident or incident, when they made that initial call to the Hotline. This includes:

  • Immediate investigation support, from coordinating logistics to on-scene data gathering and analysis.

  • ALPA legal and representational guidance when conducting crew interviews, developing crewmember statements, and completing post-accident drug and alcohol testing.

  • Interface with the investigative and regulatory authorities during the investigation, in the United States, Canada, and overseas.

  • Dealing with the effects of post-traumatic stress to you and your families in the event of an accident or incident.

Accident Investigation
ALPA-trained pilots, supported by a professional staff, develop, publish, and maintain investigative technique and procedure manuals, ensuring you're ready and equipped to handle any situation. As an ALPA member, you benefit from data analysis as comprehensive as (and frequently better than) that of the airlines, manufacturers, and government.

That's because ALPA maintains in-house, sophisticated technical equipment capable of radar data analysis, ATC voice tape analysis, and flight path reconstruction—building the best possible case to protect your interests.
